Getting to the start and from the finish

Where to stay in Belfast

Choose a room with both ends in mind. The race starts at Stormont Estate and finishes in Ormeau Park, so a room near the finish makes the trip home easy. The trip to the start is then the one to plan. Check the organiser's 2027 transport notice before you book.

Collecting your number 2027 details

The organiser's frequently asked questions say marathon packs are collected at an expo and pack collection event, and name the Waterfront Hall. The expo page names ICC Belfast and describes the half marathon in September. Neither page is dated for the 2027 marathon.

Race morning 2027 details

The start is at 9:00 at Stormont Estate. The organiser has not published the bag drop place, the closing time or how bags reach the finish. The organiser has not published this yet. We'll add it here when they do.

The time limit is 6 hours. A tail vehicle carries runners who cannot keep the required pace, and tail runners run at the limit pace. A runner who refuses to board the vehicle when asked is no longer part of the race.

In-ear headphones are not allowed. Bone conducting headphones are. Dogs, skateboards, rollerblades, hand cycles and other wheeled devices are not allowed on the course. Hand propelled and pushed wheelchairs need permission from the organiser before you enter.

The course 2027 details

No total climb figure is given. The organiser says there will be pacers at the marathon and gives no times.

Entering 2027 details

The 2027 marathon page lists 73 pounds for registered runners and 75 pounds for unregistered runners. You qualify as registered if you hold a valid Athletics membership in the UK or Ireland.

The organiser has a strict no refund policy and does not defer entries to a future event. If you cannot run because of a physical or mental health issue, you can ask to defer to the following year with a letter from your doctor or other health professional. Send it to the Marathon Office at least two weeks before race day.

You can transfer your entry through Eventmaster's Manage My Booking, once, for 8 pounds, during a transfer window. The 2027 window is not published yet. The organiser has not published this yet. We'll add it here when they do.

Weather in Belfast in May

The race has been run between 30 April and 5 May in the last five editions. These are the last five completed race days at Stormont Estate, at 9:00 and at 13:00. They are model estimates for the start area, not readings from a weather station.
