The EDP Porto Marathon starts by SEA LIFE Porto at 8:00 on Sunday 8 November 2026 and finishes at Queimódromo, next to the Parque da Cidade. Numbers are collected in the city at the Alfândega congress centre on the Friday and Saturday, so the expo and the coastal race area are separate trips.

The organiser calls registration limited. Its pages list €80 until 30 October, and €100 for a last-minute entry at the expo, with administrative costs added. Check the registration page before you travel.

Collecting your number 2026 details

Collect your number at the Centro de Congressos da Alfândega do Porto on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November, from 10:00 to 19:00 on both days. The organiser says these are the only times, with no exceptions, so there is no Sunday collection.

Bring your registration confirmation with your race number and a personal identity document. The organiser accepts an identity card, citizen card or driving licence in its rules, and its information page lists an identity card, citizen card or passport. Someone collecting for you needs your confirmation and your document number.

The organiser's regulations accept transfers and cancellations until 8 October. A transfer costs an administrative fee of €5, and a cancellation gets no refund.

The organiser also runs a pasta party at the expo on Saturday 7 November, at €6 for participants. Its page prints the hours as "12 am to 4 pm", so confirm the opening time.

Getting to Porto

Metro do Porto's Line E, the violet line, serves the airport, with trains alternating between Trindade and Campanhã stations, according to a 2022 notice from the operator. That notice gives its 2022 frequency and no travel time. Metro do Porto's current timetable pages did not load for us, so check the metro operator for the travel time, the Sunday timetable and the fare before you travel.

The organiser's 2026 pages give four places and no travel advice. You collect your number at the Centro de Congressos da Alfândega do Porto on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November. The start is by SEA LIFE Porto, and the finish is at Queimódromo, next to the Parque da Cidade do Porto, where the bag store is. The pages name no metro or bus stop for any of them and do not say how to get from the finish back to the city. The organiser lists a travel partner, 4TRAVEL, for tours and transfers, and gives [email protected] as its contact. The organiser has not published race-morning transport or road closures. We'll add them here when they do.

Where to stay in Porto

The expo is in the city at the Alfândega, and the start is by SEA LIFE Porto. The finish at Queimódromo is beside the Parque da Cidade and the bag store is there, so you finish away from where you start. The organiser's pages do not say how to travel between the start and the finish. A room within reach of the Alfândega suits the expo days, but check the organiser's final information on race-morning transport before you choose.

Race morning 2026 details

The start is at 8:00 by SEA LIFE Porto. The marathon has start groups. Group A is for runners under 3:15, group B for 3:15 to 3:45 and group C for slower than 3:45. Elite runners start in E, and Sub E is for runners under 3:00 (men) or 3:15 (women) who sent proof of a recent time to the organiser by 20 October.

The wardrobe is next to the finish line at Queimódromo. Your locker location matches the last digit of your race number, and every bag must carry your race number. The organiser will not store loose items, so everything must be inside a bag.

Pacers carry a balloon or flag and run to their finish time. They are at 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30 and 4:45.

The course 2026 details

The organiser publishes a 2026 course map for the 42 km race, so use that map for the route between the coastal start and Queimódromo. It gives no total climb figure.

Water is at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 km, and the finish has water, Super Bock beer and solid food. Solid food is at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 km. Powerade is at 20, 25, 30 and 35 km. The organiser says the number of water points may increase because of the weather.

The time limit is 6 hours, and the last runner is expected at the finish at 14:00. The organiser's clock times for the first and last runner at each point include these.

Afterwards 2026 details

The finish area at Queimódromo is for participants only, and companions and family cannot enter it. You get a medal there, and the finish has a medal engraving stand at €10 if you want your name and time added. Collect your bag at the wardrobe next to the finish line and meet your friends outside the finish area.

Agree a meeting point before the race. The organiser's pages do not describe transport home from Queimódromo, so look up your route before race day.
