The Royal Parks Half Marathon is a closed-road race through central London, known this year as the Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon. It starts on South Carriage Drive in Hyde Park, runs through Green Park and St James's Park, passes Horse Guards Parade, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, and finishes in Kensington Gardens in front of the Albert Memorial and the Royal Albert Hall.
The next race is on Sunday 10 October 2027, the organiser's 20th. The 2026 race was run on Sunday 11 October. The organiser invites people to register interest in 2027 and says details of the ballot will follow. The details below are the 2026 edition's until the 2027 pages go up.
The finish is not at the event village. After crossing the line you collect your finisher goodies and walk to the village in Hyde Park to pick up your bag.

Getting to Hyde Park 2026 details
The organiser lists the nearest stations to the event village and start line, with walking times.
| Station | Line | Walk |
|---|---|---|
| Knightsbridge | Piccadilly | about 12 minutes |
| Hyde Park Corner | Piccadilly | about 15 minutes |
| Green Park | Victoria (step-free) and Jubilee | about 20 minutes |
| South Kensington | Piccadilly | about 20 minutes |
| Victoria | Victoria (step-free) | about 25 minutes |
| Marble Arch | Central | about 25 minutes |
| Lancaster Gate | Central | about 25 minutes |
| Bond Street | Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth (step-free) | about 35 minutes |
Transport for London has engineering works on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October. They cover the Circle line from Edgware Road to Aldgate via Victoria, and the District line from Tower Hill and Edgware Road to Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia), Richmond and Wimbledon. The organiser strongly advises planning ahead. Check Transport for London's notice in the week before.
Where to stay in London
Knightsbridge is the nearest station and the walk to the event village is about 12 minutes, so a room within walking distance of Hyde Park saves the Sunday trip. Further out, choose a room on the Piccadilly, Victoria, Jubilee or Central lines, which the organiser lists for the walks above, and avoid planning around the Circle and District lines that weekend.
There are no showers or changing facilities on site. If you are travelling home the same day, carry a change of clothes in your bag and plan how you get from the finish to your hotel or station afterwards.
Collecting your number 2026 details
UK packs, holding your number, timing chip and baggage label, started going out on 21 September and keep arriving until race week. If yours has not arrived by 5:00 pm on Tuesday 6 October, the organiser asks you to complete its replacement pack form.
Runners who live outside the UK are not posted a pack and collect it in person. Replacement packs are collected in the same places.
| Day | Hours | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Friday 9 October | 12:00 to 19:00 | Marathon House, 190 Great Dover Street, London SE1 4YB |
| Saturday 10 October | 8:30 to 14:00 | The information tent, which is the Royal Parks charity tent in the event village in Hyde Park |
You can nominate someone to collect for you. They need a copy of your photo ID, written confirmation (a text message, email or note), their own photo ID and the QR code you were sent in your race day information. The organiser's FAQ lists Friday and Saturday collection only and gives no Sunday window.
The organiser's digital event guide was due from Friday 25 September, emailed with your individual start time.
Race morning 2026 details
The event village opens at 7:30. The first wave is expected to start at 8:45 and the last between 9:30 and 9:45. Your own start time comes by email nearer the race.
You may run in a later wave, but not an earlier one. If you are in wave 4 and a friend is in wave 5, you can move back to wave 5, and your friend cannot move up to wave 4. Your timing chip does not record until you cross the start line.
Bag drop is in the event village. The organiser accepts small backpacks and asks you to leave valuables at home.
The cut-off is 4 hours after the last wave has started, an average of about 18 minutes 19 seconds a mile. Central London roads reopen on a strict schedule, so the organiser says you need to hold that pace throughout. If you fall behind, you may be moved onto the pavement for safety, and the team will support you to the finish.
Pacers carry a flag on their back showing their predicted finish time. Their times come with your event guide.
The course 2026 details
The route starts in Hyde Park, runs through Green Park and St James's Park and returns to Kensington Gardens, four of London's eight Royal Parks. It runs past Horse Guards Parade with a view of the London Eye, along The Mall twice, and past Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. The organiser also names Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Serpentine Road is billed as the loudest cheer mile.
The finish by the Albert Memorial and the Royal Albert Hall has been in use since 2025. The organiser calls the course generally flat with some gentle undulations and gives no climb figure.
Water is at miles 3.5, 6.5, 9.5 and 11, subject to change. The organiser does not provide energy gels, so carry any you plan to use. There are toilets at various points on the route.
Weather in London in October
These are the last five completed race days at the start in Hyde Park, at 8:00 and at 13:00. The race has been run on a Sunday between 8 and 13 October in these years. They are model estimates for the start area, not readings from a weather station.
| Race day | 8:00 | 13:00 | Wind at 8:00 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 October 2021 | 11.9 °C | 15.6 °C | 8 km/h |

The 2024 morning was the coolest at 4.9 °C. The 2023 afternoon reached 21.8 °C.
Afterwards 2026 details
The finish is in Kensington Gardens, in front of the Albert Memorial. After crossing the line you collect your finisher goodies and walk to the event village on South Carriage Drive to collect your bag, then meet your friends there. The organiser describes this as a short, easy walk and says it lets everyone enter the village safely.
Agree a meeting point in the village before the race. There are no showers or changing facilities, so bring dry clothes in your bag. Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner are the nearest stations to the village, at about 12 and 15 minutes' walk.
If you opted out of a medal or t-shirt and have changed your mind, the organiser says you can ask at the info tent after the race. This depends on availability and cannot be arranged beforehand.
Other race weekends
Close by, and with guides of their own, are TCS London Marathon and London Landmarks Half.
