The entry includes free second-class public transport to Zürich on the day. The marathon number is collected in the week before the race, and the organiser does not post it.

Getting to Zürich 2027 details
The entry includes free second-class travel by public transport to Zürich Stadelhofen and back, over the usual route within the Swiss GA travel area, including the transfer from Zürich HB to Zürich Enge. You need two separate tickets, one for the way out and one for the way back, each with a promo code. The organiser sends the codes with your race email about a week before the race.
On the way out, the ticket is valid only together with your registration confirmation (the race email). On the way back, show the race email or your number as well as the ticket.
The organiser and the transport operators recommend the S-Bahn to Zürich Enge or Stadelhofen. From either station the start area and the bag drop are about 10 minutes on foot. Some trams and buses run on different routes on race day, and some lines stop for a while.
There are no official car parks, and the organiser recommends public transport because of road closures. There is no shuttle bus from the number pick-up to the start or the bag drop on Sunday morning.
Where to stay in Zürich
The organiser's partner hotels, listed with the Zürich City Hotels group, are between 0.4 km and 2.7 km from the start on its current list. These are the distances the list gives, not walking routes we have checked, and the group says it has more than 20 hotels. Booking through the organiser's link gives 10 per cent off the daily rate, and an early marathon breakfast and late check-out on Sunday on request, subject to availability.
The number pick-up on Lagerstrasse is 300 m on foot from Zürich HB, so a room near the station suits the week's collection. On Sunday the S-Bahn to Stadelhofen or Enge is the way to the start.
Collecting your number 2027 details
Collect at the OCHSNER SPORT Pro store at Lagerstrasse 10, 8004 Zürich, between Tuesday 6 and Saturday 10 April. The organiser publishes these dates without opening hours, so check its Runners Week page again before you travel. The store is 300 m on foot from Zürich HB, through Europaallee.
Take your race email and a valid ID. A friend or relative can collect for you with your race email and a copy of your ID. The organiser does not post numbers.
On Sunday 11 April there is a last-minute pick-up from 6:00 to 7:30 at the OCHSNER SPORT Cube, a container on Europaplatz in front of the mall entrance. It closes 30 minutes before the start, and the organiser strongly recommends collecting during the week instead.
Race morning 2027 details
The organiser asks you to arrive at least an hour before your start, to hand in your bag, use the toilets and warm up. Be in your start block 20 minutes before the start, whichever block you have. Your block follows from your estimated finish time and is colour-coded on your number. Depending on the block, the walk to it can be several hundred metres up to nearly 2 km, such as Block F.
Bag drop is at Sechseläutenplatz from 6:30 to 14:00. It takes only the official starter bag, with the tear-off from your number attached. Other bags, rucksacks, suitcases and valuables are not accepted. You get the bag back by showing your number.
The finish closes at 13:45, and the net limit is 5 hours 30 minutes. Runners who have not reached the turnaround in Meilen by 11:10 must hand in their number and transponder.
The course 2027 details
The marathon starts on Quaibrücke, runs through Zürich and along Lake Zurich with a turnaround in Meilen, and finishes on Sechseläutenplatz. The organiser measures it to World Athletics standards. It warns that building works can change the route in places and says it will announce changes.
Split times are recorded at 10, 20, 21.1, 30 and 40 km, with more checkpoints along the route. The organiser offers a route PDF and GPX files. No total climb figure appears in the page text, so check the route files for a pacing plan.
There are 12 refreshment stations, with water, isotonic drink and other energy products. The organiser has not published their distances on the pages checked. It says toilets and a medical team are available along the route. Pacers run for 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00 and 5:30.

Your free trip home uses the second ticket with its own promo code, and you show the race email or your number with it. The organiser lists a finisher medal and a finisher diploma to download, and the results are online.
Other race weekends
Close by, and with guides of their own, are Vienna City Marathon and Paris Marathon.
