The Bath Half Marathon runs through the traffic-free streets of Bath, and the Event Village is in Royal Victoria Park, on Middle Common. The organiser describes a 13.1-mile route through the city centre. A running shop's guide to the 2027 race calls it fast and flat and gives a 10:30 start.

The 2027 race is on Sunday 14 March. The organiser's main page already lists the Bath Miles on Saturday 13 March, a free entry with a souvenir medal. More than 12,000 runners were expected for the 2026 race.

The organiser hasn't posted the 2027 start times. The arrangements below are the 2026 ones, and any fact taken from the 2027 pages is marked as 2027.

Getting to Bath

Bath Spa station is on Dorchester Street, and GWR trains from London Paddington take about 1 hour 20 minutes, running every 30 minutes. From Bristol Temple Meads the train takes about 15 minutes on average. From the station to the Event Village in Royal Victoria Park is 1.8 km, about 25 minutes on foot.

If you're driving, the organiser's 2026 arrangement was a £5 ticket that covered parking at Bath Racecourse on Lansdown and a shuttle bus to Royal Victoria Park. The ride took about 30 minutes. You booked a slot through your Let's Do This account as an add-on, and same-day tickets were sold but the slots could sell out. Return buses ran from 12:00 to 18:00, leaving the park until 17:00 and then Milsom Street until 18:00. Spectators could ride with a ticketed runner. Bikes weren't allowed on board.

Where to stay in Bath

Bath is a small city, and the start is in the park on its north-west edge. A room near the station is 25 minutes on foot from the start, and a room around the centre is shorter. The streets are closed to traffic on the morning, so don't count on a taxi for the last stretch.

Collecting your number

UK runners are sent an event pack in the post. In 2026 it was due by Tuesday 10 March. If it hadn't come, there were replacement packs at the Apex City of Bath Hotel on Friday 13 March from 10:00 to 18:00 and at the Event Village info point on Saturday 14 March from 9:30 to 15:00. Overseas runners collect nearer the race, so check the participant guide for the day and place.

Your posted pack contains your bib and a kitbag.

Race morning

The 2026 race started at 10:30, in waves. If you're not ready, you can move to a later wave on the day. You can't go earlier.

Bag drop is at the start, and the limit is one rucksack or small bag each. The finish line closes at 16:00. Family and friends can come to the Event Village, but they can't go into the secure runner areas unless they're running.

The course

The organiser's course page shows the route on an embedded map and offers no course file to download. It lists the entertainment and facilities but gives no mile-by-mile detail. There are four cheer buses on the route and live bands. The drinks are Wessex Water and HIGH5 energy gel, and there are toilets at the start, the finish and every drinks station. The finish area has sensory calm spaces, a parent and child area and a multi-faith space.

The course page gives no climb figure. A local guide to training for the race suggests hill work on the Bath Skyline because the course itself has no big climbs.
