Getting to Berlin
Most runners arrive at BER. The FEX airport express takes 23 minutes to the main station, stopping at Südkreuz and Potsdamer Platz, and runs every 15 minutes, according to the tourist board. Berlin Hauptbahnhof is 1.3 km from the Brandenburg Gate, which is an 18-minute walk.
The organiser lists the nearest stations to the start as Friedrichstraße (U6 and the S-Bahn), Hauptbahnhof (U55 and the S-Bahn), Bundestag and Brandenburger Tor (U55), and Potsdamer Platz (U2 and the S-Bahn). Your number is the ticket for zones A and B on race day, which covers all of them.
Where to stay in Berlin
Everything is walkable from the middle of the city. These are walking times from the Brandenburg Gate.
| Area | To the start |
|---|---|
| Around Potsdamer Platz | 12 minutes on foot, 0.9 km |
| Around Friedrichstraße | 13 minutes on foot, 1 km |
| Around the Hauptbahnhof | 18 minutes on foot, 1.3 km |
| Alexanderplatz | 37 minutes on foot, 2.8 km |
| Around Zoologischer Garten | 48 minutes on foot, 3.6 km |
The expo at Tempelhof is 4.6 km from the Brandenburg Gate, which is 61 minutes on foot. The organiser names the U6 to Platz der Luftbrücke, then about 10 minutes' walk, or bus M43, and says there is no parking.
Collecting your number 2026 details
The 2026 expo was in Tempelhof Airport, with the entrance through the main hall, from 9:00 to 20:00 on Friday and from 9:00 to 19:00 on Saturday. Your start card, from your email or your account, is your entry ticket, and companions get in free.
Bring the start card and photo ID, and a small bag to carry the kit home. You get a wristband, which you wear until after the finish, your number with its timing chip, and safety pins. The organiser offered time slots, bookable until 23 March, and said the waits are longer from 10:00 on Saturday, so Friday is the quieter day. Extras ordered at registration, such as bib magnets, can only be collected at the expo.
Race morning 2026 details
The event area opens at 7:30, and only runners with a number and the wristband can enter. The organiser asks you to be in the start area 60 minutes before your wave. Bags and backpacks are not allowed in, except hydration packs up to 3 litres.
The run starts in waves, and the letter on your number is your group. In 2026 inline skaters started at 9:15, wheelchair athletes and handbikers at 9:55, and the runners as follows.
| Time | Wave and group |
|---|---|
| 10:05 | Wave 1, groups A to C |
| 10:21 | Wave 2, group D |
| 10:35 | Wave 3, group E |
| 10:50 | Wave 4, group F |
| 11:10 | Wave 5, group G |
Pacers ran for 1:25, 1:35, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15 and 2:30. The race-day page gives the blocks as A under 1:29, B to 1:39, C to 1:49, D to 1:59, E to 2:14, and F slower or with no time.
Only a bag in the clear bag from your kit goes to the clothing drop, and only if you booked it at registration. The city's Stadtmission collects clothes in good condition, so keep warm in a hoodie and give it away at the start. Clocks changed on the morning of the 2026 race, and in 2027 the change comes a week before the race.
The course 2026 details
The route has a timing checkpoint at the turning point at Strausberger Platz. The series page describes it as a sightseeing tour past historical buildings, newer neighbourhoods, parks and cultural buildings, and calls it flat and fast. No figure for climb is published.
Water was at 5, 9.8, 14.1, 17.2 and 19.5 km in 2026. At 14.2 and 17.5 km there was water, tea, Maurten drink mix and bananas, and at 12.3 km a Maurten gel. Stations are on the right-hand side, and every one has refills for a hydration pack. The organiser's cut-off for runners is at 18 km, 14:15, and a runner who has not reached it is taken to the finish by vehicle.

There are showers, changing tents and a free massage, and once you leave the event area you cannot re-enter.
Medal engraving was at a stand on Scheidemannstraße for €16 on the day. The meeting point for friends is in front of the Paul Löbe House, with lettered signs between the Brandenburg Gate and Scheidemannstraße.
