EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2027
Sunday, 7 March 2027 · Lisbon, Portugal
The EDP Lisbon Half Marathon starts on the 25 de Abril Bridge and finishes by the Jerónimos Monastery in Belém, which is on the north bank of the Tagus about 6.7 km west of Praça do Comércio. The course follows the river on wide, flat roads, and the organiser bills it as one of the fastest half marathons in the world.
The 2027 race is on Sunday 7 March at 9:30, with a limit of 20,000 runners, according to the organiser. It is one of the six SuperHalfs races, and it has a 10K on the same morning.
The organiser's 2027 page already lists the kit collection days and the train to the start, so most of what follows is 2027 information, with the 2026 race used where the 2027 page is silent.

Getting to Lisbon
Lisbon airport is on the Red Line of the metro, which runs to Saldanha in about 20 minutes. The metro runs from 6:30 to 1:00 every day. The finish at the Jerónimos Monastery is about 6.7 km on foot from Praça do Comércio, and the start is reached by the Fertagus train described below.
Fertagus runs from Lisbon over the 25 de Abril Bridge to Pragal and on towards Setúbal. Its Lisbon stations are Roma-Areeiro, Entrecampos, Sete Rios and Campolide.
Where to stay in Lisbon
The race starts on the bridge and ends in Belém. The measurements below are walking distances from the finish at the Monastery.
| Area | From the finish |
|---|---|
| Belém | The finish area |
| The Congress Centre, for the kits | 2.3 km on foot, about 30 minutes |
| Baixa and Praça do Comércio | 6.7 km, 90 minutes on foot |
| Cais do Sodré | 6 km, 81 minutes on foot |
Anyone staying in the centre takes Fertagus from one of the four Lisbon stations to Pragal on race morning. The organiser's page does not describe the way back from Belém.
Collecting your number
The 2027 kits are handed out at Centro de Congressos de Lisboa from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 March, 10:00 to 20:00 each day, and nothing is given out on race day. A kit has a technical shirt, your number with its chip, and a bag.
The congress centre is 2.3 km on foot from the finish at Belém. It is the one stop of the weekend that is not on the race route.
Race morning 2026 details
Getting to the start is by Fertagus, and trains are free for runners who show their number. Public transport to the Fertagus stations is also free, the organiser says. Get off at Pragal. Spectators cannot go onto the bridge.
There is no bag drop in the race, so wear what you will run in and carry nothing you need back. In 2026 corrals were assigned from the best time given at registration, in four groups, under 1:30, under 1:45, under 2:00 and over 2:00, with pace leaders for 4:00, 4:15, 5:00 and 5:30 per km.
The 2026 start was 9:30 on the bridge, and the 2027 page gives the same time.
The course
The course starts on the bridge, continues along the north shore of the Tagus past the docks and the city's historic buildings, and finishes at the Jerónimos Monastery. Wikipedia lists the Belém Tower on the way and describes the elite course as at sea level and wide and flat.
The organiser has not published a climb figure or the drinks stations for 2027 that this guide could check, and the time limit is 3 hours.
Weather in Lisbon in March
The last five race days at the bridge, at 9:30 (the average of the 9:00 and 10:00 readings) and at 13:00, are in this table. The 2022 race was in May and the other four in March.
| Race day | 9:30 | 13:00 | Wind at 9:30 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 May 2022 | 22.0 °C | 27.1 °C | 8 km/h |
| 12 March 2023 | 14.4 °C | 18.0 °C | 8 km/h |
| 17 March 2024 | 14.6 °C | 20.3 °C | 11 km/h |
| 9 March 2025 | 9.8 °C | 12.0 °C | 13 km/h |
| 8 March 2026 | 11.8 °C | 15.6 °C | 10 km/h |
The March races started at between 9.8 °C and 14.6 °C. The 2024 race was held a week late because of the elections.
Afterwards
The finish is at the Monastery in Belém. The organiser's page does not list the finish area services, so check them when the participant guide is published. The metro runs until 1:00.
